hola!
Spain is renowned world wide for its bullfighting tradition-but the 50 odd spanish students that all but brought our car to a standstill here in Galway city the other evening, were cheering and waving for a different reason...for anyone who has somehow managed to miss the fact that Euro 2008 has just come to a dramatc close-Spain came through victorious - their first European champions since 1964, beating Germany 1-0.
This photo was captured in Seville back in March last year, a city if you have not already had the good fortune of visiting, i highly recommend doing so.

Men at work
This monday morning 1000s of us are returning to work after another showery summer weekend. On last weeks Galway Advertiser PD Noel Grealish got his two cents worth in about the N16 'Road builder is ruining the roads'. Read More here...

Strawman
It's sunday and thousands of people around the country are attending mass-but this is no ordinary crucifiction-Wikipedia says a Strawmans name is derived from the practice of using straw men in combat training.[citation needed] In such training, a scarecrow is made in the image of the enemy with the single intent of attacking it.[not in citation given] Such a target is, naturally, immobile and does not fight back, and is not as realistic to test skill against compared to a live and armed opponent.
Arofish is the stencil graffiti artist behind this creation which i came across on the Southbank of London in 2006.

Save the Chickens
For months now TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has been campaigning for better conditions for factory raised chickens-but yesterday he lost the fight with Tescos shareholders - winning only 10% of the votes to introduce better standards for the raising of the chickens that are stocked in their supermarkets. Hughs website - Chickenout helps campaign to raise the conditions that these birds are raised in.
The graffiti pictured was spotted on Moss Street in Dublin back in 2006.

Let it Be
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be. - a couple of words from the Beatles song 'Let it Be'
This shot was taken right outside the studios where the Beatles did some of their recordings in Abbey Road, London on a cold Jan morning back in 2006.

rat art
I lived in London for almost seven years, it's where i first started taken photos of graffiti. When leaving the company I worked for I got a pressie of Banksy Wall and Piece book from my team mates. It's basically a collection of Banksys work. [i guess they must have spotted i take a few graffiti photos :-)]
In the book he mentions that he was painting rats for three years before someone said to him 'that's clever it's an anagram of art' and Banksy pretended that he knew that all along.
